About Us

When LAS owner and chief mechanic, Nermin Dulalic moved to Louisville in 1998 from Germany he knew that after a few years familiarizing himself with the Louisville area automobile world and working for some larger automobile shops here, he would open his own service and repair shop. When Nermin came to Louisville from Kaiserslautern, Germany, he had already successfully finished the intricate and demanding formal automobile mechanic schooling (apprenticeship) in Germany.  Automobile mechanics were in Nermin’s blood. Since early childhood he grew up surrounded by automobiles of all types in his father’s automobile shop in Sarajevo (former Yugoslavia). Once he had finished high school, his family decided that he needed to get the best automobile mechanic education he could get and sent him to Germany, where he learned all the refined technologies of automobile mechanics and computer technology in cars in a three year education which is state monitored and is combined with a same length  practical training. He was lucky to be accepted at an official Mercedes-Benz and Mitsubishi dealership and service company (Vertragswertkstatt) that facilitated his education. There he was exposed not only to the Mercedes and Mitsubishi models but based on the trade-in business by certified dealerships, he was able to expand his education on all midrange and luxury European car brands from Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Porsche, Mini, VW and on occasion working on more exotic cars like Ferrari, Rover, Maserati, Austin Martin and others. The fact that the Mercedes-Benz brand also produces a wide variety of cargo vehicles provided him with additional opportunities to understand and work on small and semi-trucks and their Diesel engines. Continuing his work experience after his education for a few more years with the same Mercedes dealership, Nermin and his family moved to Louisville.

He expanded his team with mechanics that have very similar educations and practical experiences made in Germany to satisfy his quality demands and automobile knowledge and to serve LAS’s customers in Louisville. LAS is now in its fifth year as an independent automobile repair and service shop on Bardstown Rd in Buechel and is in addition to native Louisville customers, highly valued by international customers now residents of Jefferson County.

Nermin has added tire service and new equipment to the operation that allows LAS to change low profile tires and work with rims up to 24 inches in diameter.  More customers discover one of Louisville’s best kept secrets in the automobile service industry, LAS and look for knowledge and common-sense automobile services. While still a small shop that can occasionally service a drive up customer, it is highly recommended for existing and new customers to call ahead and set up a service appointment.
